- Well, I got OS2 2.0 up and running after the help from many about forcing
- my Paradise VGA card into 8-bit mode. Many thanks to all.
-
- Now a question: how can I park the heads on my drive before turning off my
- computer? Back when I used DOS (it seems so long ago - 1 1/2 days), I used
- a utility I got with Spinrite named park.com. I religiously parked the
- heads before shutting down the computer. I've got an old 20 Mb Seagate
- that has been running flawlessly for 6+ years and I attribute it mostly to
- always parking the heads.
-
- Anyway, after going through the shutdown procedure I hear the heads drop
- when I turn off the computer. I hate that sound! After shutdown though,
- you can't do anything but reboot or turn off. Can I add the park command
- to the end of the shutdown procedure somehow?
-
- Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.
