- The BEST thing you can do to speed up OS/2 is go out and by at least 2Mb and
- preferably 4Mb of memory and install them in your system. I was amazed at the
- difference after upgrading my system from 4Mb to 8Mb. I'm guessing that you've
- installed OS/2 using FAT partitions since you do only have 4Mb. Once you've
- upgraded to at least 6Mb then you can begin to consider running HPFS.
-
- Check your config.sys file to make sure the HPFS driver is not being installed
- on your system. There's other good tips for DOS and Windows settings to use on
- your applications to improve performance. Something I discovered the other day
- while I was working with an Excel spreadsheet. If I made the clipboard private
- the spead of copying things around the database improved dramatically. Anyone
- have any ideas on why using a public clipboard from Excel would be so SLOW?
