- RR>I was running it at the office on an Everex STEP 386/33 w/8Mb and a
- RR>200Mb IDE drive for evaluation purposes. I ran it for several weeks until
- RR>I had checked out things (in particular the performance of Windows apps
- RR>since my organization will be migrating to those types of apps) and found
- RR>it rather lacking in that area. The DOS support was exceptional (albeit a
- RR>bit much - several screens of parameters will certainly daunt the average
- RR>user), the OS/2 support was the OS/2 support :-) (we have few OS/2 apps)
- RR>and the Windows support was kludgy. My general impression was that it was
- RR>a good concept with somewhat rushed and inconsistent execution - a diamond
- RR>in the rough, so to speak. This technical viewpoint totally ignores the
- RR>marketing perspective which, IMO, is considerably less favourable.

- The last time you spoke of running OS/2 2.0 in any area I monitor was
- before the GA release. Does the above refer to the GA release
- version?
-
- I have not pushed the Windows issue, since I have mostly OS/2 apps or
- DOS apps, but what I have done with it was OK. Nothing to indicate it
- was kludgy. Mind you, I am running 800x600 under OS/2, so all windows
- apps ran in a seperate Windows screen group.
