- I didn't include the article about whether NT is really New Technology
- 'cause it was rather long...
-
- 1) I never said that NT couldn't user dumb terminals.
- 2) I never said that the Clients must be NT machines,
- in fact, simple windows machines are good.
- 3) You will never see "NEW" technology unless you work in a research
- station. The "NEW" in NT is in the context of the market that it
- is targeted for. You may be able to find some of the features in
- X or UNIX, but to get them all, you really have to go out of your
- way. If you have a UNIX system with X, various DOS/WINDOWS/WHATEVER
- emulators, I want to see you act as the MIS person. Try managing
- a number of these stations.
-
- 4) If you have questions about compatability, read the portion about
- LAN communications in the release notes, especiall the part about
- Protocols.
-
-
- You say that NT will lose because UNIX and X can do a lot of the things
- that NT can do, well, I say it's the other way around. NT can do the
- things UNIX and X can do, and MORE!!! (blatant advertisement just
- to fan the flames ;)
