  13. I had a problem logging off NT today.  I went to the Program Mgr and selected 
  14. Logoff.  On the dialog I clicked on Shut Down and hit OK.  A lot of icons 
  15. dissappeared, but one MSDOS prompt window stayed and then the logoff dialog 
  16. went blank.  Nothing happened.  Then I used the task manager to kill the 
  17. logoff dialog.  I found that I could not kill the window with the MSDOS 
  18. prompt.  The program manager was still there so I tried Pview. It didn't list 
  19. the DOS prompt window. The task manager DID show that window, but 'End Task' 
  20. just maximized it, instead of killing it.

  22. Following all this I tried the logoff window again several times. Each time 
  23. the disk would make some noises, but the logoff dialog just disappeared and 
  24. nothing happened.  I was trapped in NT limbo!!  Further experimentation 
  25. convinced me that things were not responding to mouse input correctly (icons 
  26. dissappear when I click on them, minmizing the program mgr does not clear it 
  27. from the screen,etc.).

  29. Then I tried doing an 'End task' on the program mgr.  That just left a mess 
  30. of half painted windows.  Ctrl-Alt-Del did nothing (is it supposed to 
  31. reboot with that?).  The only thing left was the reset button.

  33. Anyone else experienced anything like this?
