- I'm trying to install the NT pre-beta on my Insight 486/33 EISA. It has
- 8MB RAM, Adaptec 1542B (rev F) SCSI controller, Diamond Stealth VRAM, 2
- SCSI disks and Sony CDU-541 CD-ROM.
-
- The disks are at id 0 and 1, the CD-ROM is at id 2. The installation
- boot disk boots properly and finds the 1542. Then the screen asking me
- whether I want express or custom setup appears. After I choose 'c' for
- custom, the status line says "Examining disk configurations..." and
- the system hangs.
-
- I believe I have the SCSI bus terminated correctly:
-
- internal external
- /------------------------------------------\ /---------------------\
- *TERM* -- CD-ROM -- Disk #1 -- 1542 ------- Disk #2 -- *TERM*
-
- Any ideas what could be wrong?
-
- Thank you for any help and suggestions.
