- I just read in an article (Windows Magazine, Sept, 1992) that a good
- way to save space on hard drives was to change the bmp files to compressed .RLE
- files. Is this correct, and can I still use them as wallpaper? Is there a
- simple program that will do this conversion?
- Secondly, in defragmenting my hard drive they suggested that the most
- used directories (like windows, wpwin etc...) should go first and that this
- will provide the best optimization results because the disk does not have
- to search asfar. Can someone verify this for me?
-
- Thanks in advance for letting me ask these FAQs.
