- We have several IBM PCs with Daystar AppleTalk cards running Farallon's
- PhoneNetTalk software (2.02). The LocalTalk network is connected to our
- Ethernet backbone via a Shiva FastPath. Using MS Word 1.1a running under
- Windows 3.0, we are trying to print to our LPS40s via PathWorks. The
- documents print fine, but the identifying information (creator, document
- name, and mac user) which shows up on the flag page (and when one looks
- at the VMS print queue) is all being set to "unknown".
-
- DEC has confirmed that this info is extracted directly from the Postscript sent
- over. The Postscript preamble or header generated by the Windows driver is
- similar to that generated by the mac driver, but does not include a "%% For:
- user" line, where the mac owner or chooser username is sent. The title and the
- creator are sent, but not recognized. I tried editing the Postscript that
- Windows generated, making the preamble match that generated by the mac and
- then printing the document from DOS, but the same thing happened.
-
- If anyone has any answers or suggestions for this problem, please respond
- directly to me. Thanks in advance.
