  12. I've just installed an Intel SatisFAXtion board in my 486 clone. The 
  13. board came with a crippled version of Intel FAXability software for 
  14. Windows where you set up the fax as a printer device. Nice to fax stuff 
  15. from WfW etc. Howsomever, when someone faxes stuff to my machine, the 
  16. Intel software hangs onto the document, makes you "save" it as a *.DCX 
  17. file. Then, you've got to break it up into *.PCX files using a DOS 
  18. command (outside Windows). Then, I import the images into WfW or 
  19. Paintbrush and print.

  21. My problem: I've got this one page WfW document with a single PCX image 
  22. (about 200K). When I go to print the damn thing, Print Manager keeps 
  23. halting with the dreaded stop sign and a message that says "The printer 
  24. on LPT1 is not responding. Check the printer or increase the 
  25. Transmission Retry value (it's 120 sec.) ... and resume the print 
  26. queue."  What's going on???  After 12 minutes pm says its completed 44% 
  27. of 202K and crashes again.

  29. I have a 486/50 clone with 16 Mb ram with a HP Laserjet III w/2Mb 
  30. optional memory in addition to its stnd 1 Mb internal memory and a 
  31. official HP Postscript cartridge.  I'm running Win 3.1 and WfW 2.0.
  32. Why does this thing balk at a measly little 200K file?? Why does print
  33. manager take 15+ minutes to send this thing over a parallel port??
  34. With all that memory I thought it'd be zapped over in no time at all.
