  11. I've been a faithful user of Ami Pro 1.1 (yes, 1.1) for years, and when
  12. I upgraded to Win 3.1, I got Word 2 to replace the old Ami (even though
  13. it worked OK with even 3.1! - I just thought that Word might as win 3
  14. app be speedier and more reliable). Word is mostly OK (I love the key
  15. definitions - I was able to program all the familiar ctrl sequences from
  16. Ami to Word), but there's a problem (IMO) with zoom states and character
  17. spacing.

  19. If I hit "show full page" in layout mode (that's where I work anyways),
  20. the justified columns are no longer justified - in screen. Ami was able
  21. to keep justified text justified, no matter what zoom. Word doesn't
  22. always justify properly on screen even in print preview. I've got 1Kx768
  23. display, so the resolution shouldn't be a problem.

  25. Is this just a problem with Windows fonts, or is Word simply incompetent
  26. with this feature?

  28. Oh, and another oddity in Word: I tried to put two about 1/3 page size
  29. frames in an empty page; the other aligned to center-top-rel. to margin,
  30. the other center-bottom-rel. to margin. Word always either hid the
  31. topmost frame (i.e. didn't show it), or it dumped it to the top of the
  32. next page. The only way I was able to get the both frames to be visible
  33. on the same page was to position them slightly overlapping each other.
  34. Anybody know what gives?
