  22. I am attempting to write a system information program much like a
  23. Norton SI.  I am only interested in the system configuration section
  24. of programs like SI or Checkit.  More specifically, what I want to
  25. know is how to write code (in C of course) that will determine
  26. CPU/FPU type and CPU speed, bus speed also if possible.  I can do
  27. everything else (ports, drives, disk space, etc.) but I can't find
  28. any info on CPU identification or speed determination.

  32. If you know of a reference (title, publisher, etc.) that discusses
  33. system configuration programs for the PC, that would be great.
  34. Source code would even be better.  Both might justify payment!
