- I have a 486-33Mhz machine, with 4 megs of memory and a hard drive.
- It is running a version of MSDOS 5.0 which the manufacturer distributes
- under the license from Microsoft. I am having the following problem
- installing SMARTDRV.SYS:
-
- I have included the command "devicehigh=c:\dos\smartdrv.sys 2048 512"
- to install SMARTDRV.SYS utility in my config.sys file. However, the
- message I get is:
-
- "Incompatible disk partition detected"
-
- This is strange because I partitioned my hard drive using the FDISK
- utility which comes with DOS 5.0. I am able to install SMARTDRV.SYS
- using '/p' switch, however, with that I get the message " Disk partition
- not checked; data corruption may result", which I find scary. Did anyone
- have similar problems? Is there any way to take care of it?
- I will appreciate your help.
-
- Thanks
