- Well, the problems are real. Have you ever heard the sound that comes out
- of some notebook pc's? It is really terrible. Also, the speaker driver
- recuires ALL of your system resources to run a simple sound-- including
- the clock. So, continued running of the driver will make the clock in-
- accurate. Neither of these are bugs with the driver, but M.S. didn't
- give it out for these reasons. The clock problem is due to the simple,
- one-bit sound system for the speaker. It is turned on and offrapidly to
- simulate the AC signal that would normally produce sound, and these controls
- will tie up the clock circuit in addition to the CPU.
