- Hello all,
-
- I have a problem when trying to run MacMINIX on top of a GERMAN version of
- system 7.0 (on a Mac of course). According to the manual this combination
- should lead to a German keyboard mapping, but unfortunately that is only
- partially true, as the shift key seems to be ignored. Now to get upper case
- letters I can help myself with pressing the lock key (so at least I can login)
- but some symbols (e.g. ";", ":","(",")") require the shift key and are thus not
- accessible.
-
- In addition, some other symbols (e.g.the symbol for the pipe, brackets and
- braces) require the option key to be pressed. As I am using an extended Apple
- keyboard with a control key I would like to be able to remap the option key.
-
- I know that I can switch to the US keyboard mapping (and strange enough, in
- that case the shift key works as expected) however, as I am more familiar with
- the German keyboard I would prefer the German mapping.
-
- Is there any way to get access to all symbols without switching to the US
- keyboard mapping? Any ideas welcome.
-
- Thanks in advance, Erika.
