- I agree with most of what you've said, and am working on a similar
- project, but there's a couple of problems: time and diskspace.
- Organizing such an effort is not exactly easy, and finding someplace
- willing to house it almost as difficult - approaching this idea as a
- 'reorganization' of a current site would run into all sorts of other
- problems, since you would almost need to clean house and start from
- the ground up to 'do it right', which would temporarily put the site
- out of service, effectively.

- Just as a little side note, this is a mistake, IMHO. GNU software
- should not be treated as a single collective entity - their scope is
- just too wide-ranging. symlinking all the GNU stuff into one
- hierarchy mught not be that bad of an idea, though.
