  25. I agree with most of what you've said, and am working on a similar
  26. project, but there's a couple of problems: time and diskspace.
  27. Organizing such an effort is not exactly easy, and finding someplace
  28. willing to house it almost as difficult - approaching this idea as a
  29. 'reorganization' of a current site would run into all sorts of other
  30. problems, since you would almost need to clean house and start from
  31. the ground up to 'do it right', which would temporarily put the site
  32. out of service, effectively.

  36. Just as a little side note, this is a mistake, IMHO.  GNU software
  37. should not be treated as a single collective entity - their scope is
  38. just too wide-ranging.  symlinking all the GNU stuff into one
  39. hierarchy mught not be that bad of an idea, though.
