- I've tried this with the both the 0.96cpl2 kernel and the 0.97pl1
- kernel. Same result, also with different versions of uncompress.

- To be more specific: I was using GNU-tar with the z option, so
- compress was called in a pipe. I didn't try out uncompress alone.
- (Well, I did, but then my file system was already totally
- corrupted, I wouldn't have noticed any further corruption ... ;-)
