- Is anyone else having a problem with the DOS filesystem deleting files
- out of the blue?
-
- I've been backing up my system by creating a compressed tar file and
- copying it over to my DOS partition (32 megs) and then copying that file over
- to a file server.
-
- Well, more than once, when I have used that file to restore files using
- a normal "zcat" command, the file disappears, just as if it was deleted.
- CHKDSK shows no problems with the DOS partition.
-
- The only other thing I can think of it some bug with compress that makes
- it delete files after uncompressing them no matter what command you're running.
- But I seriously doubt this is the case.
