- If you have MCA, you already have what you deserve! (Evil, PS/2-hating
- sneer :-)
- Seriously though, PS/2's suck raw eggs through a long thin straw ;-)
- Actually, I don't know about MCA, but I run Linux 0.97 on my
- Northgate 486DX-33 EISA machine, no proble. (OK, so it doesn't
- recognize my dual Ciprico Rimfire 5600 SCSI controllers, but hey...)
- The onboard IDE circuitry works just fine (and provides an interesting
- boot process; I haven't had a chance to read all the docs yet, but
- the SCSI and IDE don't get along well at all, so I have to disable
- the IDE and set both drives to Type 0 in the CMOS edit to boot
- DOS (going to NetWare 3.11), but it does make for a nice, fast
- Linux box).
-
- (BTW- I just have to put in a plug for Northgate; if you're gonna
- buy, they're a Class A outfit. I've found their Tech Support to be
- the absolute best I've ever dealt with.)
