  11. I have been getting error when recompiling large program
  12. under 0.97 pl1.  These errors are usually caused by undefined
  13. symbols being referenced.  Such as "nr_pa5es symbol not defined".
  14. These errors will sometimes repeat the exact same errors, until I go
  15. to another terminal do something that requires disk access and then
  16. the compilation will proceed further or possibly finish.

  18. When I look at the file with vi the error is no where to be found.  I
  19. assume that this is a problem with the buffers being corrupted.  Is
  20. this a problem with anyone else.  I have a 486 with two IDE drives and
  21. 16MB mem.  If any other info will help I would be glad to provide it.

  23. NOTE: this is a problem that has occured only occationally when
  24. compiling big X programs and the kernel.
