- Based on the hardware configuration, it sounds like you don't want
- a low-end sound card. The Sound Blaster is adequate, and it is supported
- by almost every software product, but technically, it sucks. I've used
- SB's in mutlimedia kiosks for some time now, only because of price. The
- company (not UNISYS) also used other cards, and out of the two choices
- you list, the Pro Audio Spectrum is definitely worth the extra $100 or so
- (retail). SB has a lousy ground design which causes hum and buzz, and don't
- ask about the gutless amp.
- The MediaVision card(ProAud..) is a next generation card, and has the
- capabilities to prove it.

- I'm no expert on sound cards, but this is based on personal experience. Buy
- a Sound Blaster if you want cheap, and a Pro Audio Spectrum if you want
- better sound capabilities.
