  27. Case Western Reserve University initiated the Cleveland Freenet
  28. project a number of years ago, and this Freenet concept has grown
  29. quite a bit over the years, including the formation of the NPTN
  30. (National Public Telecomputing Network or something like that)
  31. modeled after PBS or NPR.  You can become a registered user by
  32. calling with your modem to 216-368-3888, or Telnet to
  33. cwns5.ins.cwru.edu.  Tour the system as a guest, then register
  34. to obtain Internet e-mail privileges.  A number of other Freenets
  35. have sprung up, mostly in the mid-west area.  While in Cleveland
  36. Freenet, you can find out about what other Freenet systems are
  37. around by going to the Teleport (one of the menu choices that you
  38. will see).  Good luck.
