  14. Thanks for the e-help from everyone.  I located the solution by lots more
  15. hammering.  What I got to work was that, in addition to the suggestions like:
  16.         o  File must have world read perms [OK, I had that]
  17.         o  File must be owned by user [OK, had that too]
  18.  
  19. In my SunOS, the file had to have execute perms set when the pipe functions was
  20. used to execute another program.  Thus the file had to be at least 755
  21. otherwise my SunOS 4.1.2 wouldn't run the .forward and dumpped the mail into
  22. the phoney user mailbox.  Go figure!!

  24. BTW, I got lots of suggestions to use procmail, which is what I had intended to
  25. do originally, but first I needed to see how to get a simple program into
  26. execution.

  28. I just wanted to post this follow up in case someone else had a similar prob.
