- Hi Folks...
-
- I'm running a Unix machine with public, shell access.
- What I would like to do is offer off-line mail access, so that
- users don't have to read their mail on-line if they don't
- want to.
-
- Now, preferably it would just download their mailbox
- in standard format, and let them go through it like 'elm' allows
- them to do on-line. That would allow them to read their mail
- off-line, but how about sending mail? Can that be done?
-
- Basically, I don't want to set up a whole bunch of
- FSUUCP or UUPC feeds off of here, that would be a major headache.
- I would like a user to maybe have a program that would log on
- automatically, to their personal account, and then download
- their mail that is waiting, upload any mail that is waiting
- to go, but *still* have the functionality of logging onto
- their account for an interactive session of, let's say, news
- reading or something like that.
-
- Is this possible? I noticed someone posted something
- about NUPop? I've also heard about POP, but haven't got a
- clue what that is. :(
-
- Thanks for help...
-
- Marc
