  12. Sometimes there are very trivial reasons to prefer FORTRAN:

  14. On a Siemens/Fujitsu vector computer where I have access to (a nice
  15. machine with 5 Giga-FLOPS), there only is a FORTRAN compiler, no
  16. assembler, no C, no PASCAL, only FORTRAN.

  20. P.S. I have not yet seen a 100,000 lines C program, whereas I work with
  21. several FORTRAN programs which are larger than this.
