  28. "IOStreams Examples" that Jerry mentioned is not a reference per se, but it is
  29. a good document on the intricacies of iostreams.  If you want to get into
  30. iostreams, this is probably the thing to get until something better comes
  31. along.  It's helped me on occassion, but you have to be careful in reading it
  32. as it does have some misleading "typos" and assumes a level of understanding
  33. in many areas that borders on having the source code for the library to refer
  34. to for further ideas and verification.

  36. This was part of the Library Manual for AT&T C++ 2.0 and I got a copy by
  37. calling 1-800-CALLATT.  The select code that I have is probably no longer
  38. correct now that they've come out with newer versions.  At the time, you could
  39. order the manuals without ordering the source code.
