- KHOROS WORKSHOP @ VISUALIZATION 92
- Tuesday, October 20, 1992
- Boston Park Plaza Hotel
- Boston Massachusetts
- Cost $50.00 (Workshop Registration)
-
- The purpose of the workshop is to disseminate as much information as
- possible to the visualization community about Khoros from those that
- use Khoros. There is growing interest in and use of Khoros for
- visualization because: 1) it is an open system and 2) it is a software
- environment that is appropriate for many visualization disciplines. A
- workshop attendee will take away a basic understanding of what Khoros
- is, what the future of Khoros holds, and how the community is using it.
-
- The workshop will have four components: 1) introductory remarks and
- overview of the presentations, 2) presentations from the user
- community, 3) Khoros toolkits and internals, and 4) open discussions in
- the morning and afternoon.

- From: hunter@ocfmail.ocf.llnl.gov (Carol Hunter)
- To: rasure@nell.eece.unm.edu
- Subject: workshop text & reg
-
- Carol Hunter, VIS92 Program Co-Chair, prepared the following modified
- Announcement.
-
- Unfortunately, the Khoros Workshop is a very different entity than the rest
- of the workshops. This makes it difficult to write up a generic method
- of registering, getting admitted, etc.
-
- The Reg Desk should be able to handle walk-ins for your workshop, so that
- anyone who is interested can still register on site.

-
- Workshops listed below are now being organized. Please reach the
- workshop organizer listed below to indicate your interest in
- participation. Participants for Workshops 1,2, and 3 are expected to
- prepare a short paper that outlines their research and provide data to
- be shared by colleagues in this field. Participation in Workshops 1,2, and 3
- is limited and participants are selected by the workshop organizer.
- Workshop 4 is open to anyone who wishes to register; the presenters have
- already been selected. Workshop 4 attendees are expected to contact the
- workshop organizer to indicate their interest in attending.
- The workshops will be scheduled on Monday and Tuesday.
- There will be a $50 fee for each workshop per day.
- Please pay the fee on-site to participate in the workshop at
- Visualization '92.
