- No it doesn't have anything to do with graphics other than my intro to
- Chicago unions came at SIGGRAPH 89 as a very small exhibitor whose
- entire future was in the hands of these assholes. I'll be quiet now.

- Uh... SIGGRAPH 89 was in Boston (another strong Union town), wasn't
- it? Or did I get on the wrong plane again?
-
- Unless I'm mistaken, '89 was Chicago and '79 was Boston.
- And Nick England got famous around '79 working for one of
- those large, three-letter workstation companies. But then
- in the late 80's, he got an urge to start a small company
- to do very fast VLIW race car simulators, which was what
- caused the aforementioned problems with the unions. The
- battle between the electricians and the auto mechanics was
- only resolved when they decided they could both collect
- double, cut in the upholstery union and keep the tires.
-
- I also heard his simulators got so good at the motion and
- visuals for Italian sports cars, that even he thought they
- were real.
