- Many editors (e.g., CCA Emacs, and VMS Eve) highlight the text that
- has been selected for some block operation.
-
- In general I find this a nuisance, but it is occasionally convenient.
- Using GNU emacs 18.58, it doesn't look like there is any way to do
- this; the display seems to be done by very low-level code. Have I
- missed something? Is there any way to do this purely in lisp, i.e.,
- without changing the C code an recompiling the editor?

- Matthew Austern I dreamt I was being followed by a roving band
- (510) 644-2618 of young Republicans, all wearing the same suit,
- matt@physics.berkeley.edu taunting me and shouting, "Politically correct
- austern@theorm.lbl.gov multiculturist scum!"... They were going to make
- austern@lbl.bitnet me kiss Jesse Helms's picture when I woke up.
