  21. Yes it probably would but that's not all vi's fault.  At least if it
  22. was implemented using X Window System.  But there are a lot of faster
  23. GUIs out there.

  25. For example I once read a paper on a window system called "8 1/2".  It
  26. seemed nice, simple, light-weight and fast.  It would be nice to get
  27. to try it somewhere.  MacIntoshes have a lean-and-mean window system
  28. too.  Why is X so big and slow?!?!?
