  21. The best thing you could do was to unplug it. Those little
  22. transformers were responsible for starting many fires. People would
  23. plug non-lighted-dial phone into the outlets and sometimes the
  24. transformer secondary would be shorted. These transformers have no
  25. thermal or over-current protection, so the frequent result was a nice
  26. cozy fire.
