  14. We have IGS/R running old 8.2(8) software release.  Sometimes it dies 
  15. due a lot of ARP packets.  First it used to die (debug output from
  16. other router on the same ethernet) to the following packets
  17. (sent several times per second):

  23. After disabling probe arp on the interfaces the system died to:

  28. We are going to update the software but is this a known problem under
  29. 8.2(8) ?  What kind of a bug or device in the ethernet might cause
  30. this kind of behaviour ?  (I'm just curious..)
