- We have IGS/R running old 8.2(8) software release. Sometimes it dies
- due a lot of ARP packets. First it used to die (debug output from
- other router on the same ethernet) to the following packets
- (sent several times per second):
-
- PROBE: input request 128.214.245.4
- IP ARP: rcvd req src 192.98.63.9 0000.0c01.85bc, dst 128.214.245.4
- IP ARP: sent rep src 128.214.245.4 0000.0c01.27d7, dst 192.98.63.9 0000.0c01.85bc
-
- After disabling probe arp on the interfaces the system died to:
-
- IP ARP: rcvd req src 192.98.63.9 0000.0c01.85bc, dst 128.214.245.4
- IP ARP: sent rep src 128.214.245.4 0000.0c01.27d7, dst 192.98.63.9 0000.0c01.85bc

- We are going to update the software but is this a known problem under
- 8.2(8) ? What kind of a bug or device in the ethernet might cause
- this kind of behaviour ? (I'm just curious..)
