- Well, the problems I've had with dialtone detection were not false
- negatives; i.e., failing to recognize a present dialtone. The
- problems I had were false positives; i.e., recognizing as dialtone
- something that was not. The Supra seems to think that any kind of
- noise on the line, including a normal voice conversation, is a
- dialtone and happily dials through it.

- I suppose this is good if you're having problems getting the modem to
- see dialtone, but it's not very acceptable if you have the modem
- sharing a voice line and want to prevent it from dialing out if the
- line is otherwise in use.
