- I'm running OS/2 2.0 and multitask while downloading files. Because
- I only have standard 16450 serial ports, I get a lot of errors while
- transferring files using a v.32bis external modem. It seems that
- getting a serial card with a 16550 built into it is the solution.
- Many people here have talked about removing the old chip and replacing
- it with at 16550A/AFN/etc. My problem is that my serial card does
- not allow for replacement chips, besides soldering them into it.
- I've therefore been looking for a place where I can buy another
- serial i/o card with a build in 16550. I've looked through lots of
- advertisements but have yet to find any place selling these
- cards. I'd really appreciate any experience/help anyone has to
- offer in my quest for the buffered serial card. Thanks.
