  24. I have no experience with USR or Hayes. ZyXEL ls lots and lots better
  25. than Microcom, in my case. The lines are rather NOISY. ZyXEL holds
  26. the line acceptably.

  34. I'm doing a lot fo calling to V.32bis and V.32 modems. No problem. Only
  35. that for stupid Microcom I have to explicitely tell ZyXEL to start
  36. negotiating from V.32, because otherwise Microcom drops the
  37. phone before ZyXEL has time to come all the way down from
  38. V.32bis to V.32 (:-).

  40. Actually - I'm connecting successfully to Telebit 2500, USR (whatever
  41. the latest modems are) and to come Trailblazers in poor 2400 bps...
  42. No problem in each case.

  47. Naw, it doesn't run hot. I'm satisfied with that. Yeah, case is
  48. manufactored OK... I don't think it will come apart on you...

  69. Yeah, I would buy another one, even though ZyXEL Fax stuff somewhat
  70. sucks. Well, they're improving it, and there is hope it will be
  71. fixed. So I'll stick to them, I think.

  73. Problems: fax firmware needs to be fixed. My current ROM release
  74. has another noticeable bug with &D3, but I'm sure it's fixed in
  75. the next release, and so far ZyXEL was pretty nice in giving
  76. free upgrade if you hit a bug in their microcode. I have 
  77. no complains so far (oh, I'm going to ask for another
  78. upgrade soon, so we'll see if they're still as good
  79. as they used to be :-).
