-
- I have no experience with USR or Hayes. ZyXEL ls lots and lots better
- than Microcom, in my case. The lines are rather NOISY. ZyXEL holds
- the line acceptably.

-
- I'm doing a lot fo calling to V.32bis and V.32 modems. No problem. Only
- that for stupid Microcom I have to explicitely tell ZyXEL to start
- negotiating from V.32, because otherwise Microcom drops the
- phone before ZyXEL has time to come all the way down from
- V.32bis to V.32 (:-).
-
- Actually - I'm connecting successfully to Telebit 2500, USR (whatever
- the latest modems are) and to come Trailblazers in poor 2400 bps...
- No problem in each case.
-

-
- Naw, it doesn't run hot. I'm satisfied with that. Yeah, case is
- manufactored OK... I don't think it will come apart on you...
- Come on, it's not Chevy 1986 (:-).
-

-
- Don't know. Never cared. Won't bother to take a look. (But the answer
- to your question is - probably not.)
-
- |> 5) What kind of warranty does it come with, and has anyone needed

- |> service?
-
- Supposed to be five years.
-
- I had to use it once (the ROMs were fried, I guess, or whatever).
- I was satisfied.
-
- |> 6) Finally, and probably most importantly, would you buy another one?
- |> If not, why not?
-
- Yeah, I would buy another one, even though ZyXEL Fax stuff somewhat
- sucks. Well, they're improving it, and there is hope it will be
- fixed. So I'll stick to them, I think.
-
- Problems: fax firmware needs to be fixed. My current ROM release
- has another noticeable bug with &D3, but I'm sure it's fixed in
- the next release, and so far ZyXEL was pretty nice in giving
- free upgrade if you hit a bug in their microcode. I have
- no complains so far (oh, I'm going to ask for another
- upgrade soon, so we'll see if they're still as good
- as they used to be :-).
