  25. hit at the same time.

  27. anyways, to the original poster:  the 8259 is *NOT* a UART.  if you
  28. replace it with a UART chip, your computer would, uhh, not work....to
  29. say the least.  (haven't looked in a long, long time, but I don't think
  30. the chips are even close to the same size...lucky you.)

  32. the chip you were referring to is the 8250, and yes, in general, the
  33. 8250A/16450 are better than the 8250, and the 16550AN/16550AFN chips
  34. are better than all of the above.  now, you may not need them for your
  35. application, but that's another story!  :-)  I would suggest you look at
  36. the FAQ (since this is one), but we don't have a FAQ on this group....
