  14. I'm looking for some information about a modem manufacturer called CALPAK.
  15. That means I'm looking for a fax, phone and/or BBS number and/or an email
  16. address of this firm. In the manual which came with the modem I only found 
  17. their postal address: CALPAK Corp., 22825 Lockness Ave., Torrance, CA 90501.

  19. The matter is that I bought a modem mady by this firm over a German mail
  20. order firm and now I've some technical problems and this German firm offers
  21. only a terrible tech support. 
  22. Or may be someone of you can help me to solve my problems?
  23. The modem is a fax/modem with 9600bps send/receive fax and 2400bps modem.
  24. The type is MX-2496B. It's an internal modem with the Rockwell chipset.
  25. The fax works fine under Delrina's Winfax 2.0 which came with the modem.
  26. According to the manual the modem supports MNP5 and V42bis. But I didn't
  27. figure out how I can switch on these features. Does anybody know the AT-
  28. commands for doing this? Am I able to verify if MNP5 or V42bis is switched on
  29. with the help of the value of certain S-registers?
  30. Another problem is that the &T-commands (test commands) seem to not work.
  31. I always get an ERROR response from the modem when I try to invoke AT&T1 for
  32. instance.
  33. And a third question is: how can I switch between the 3 stored profiles in 
  34. the modem memory? I think I always change profile 0 at the moment when I 
  35. change a register setting for instance. But it must be possible at least to
  36. activate the other two profiles.
  37. I would really appreciate it if anybody could help me.
