- two suggestions: first, is the phone cable plugged into the correct
- jack? i hope that doesn't sound condescending, but the few times that i've
- had to screw around with my cabling, i've almost invariably swapped the
- line that goes to the wall with the line that goes from supra to phone.
- you'll get dead air if you have them swapped.

- the other thing to check is that you have the &C command set properly.
- if you tell the faxmodem to always have data-carrier-on, it can confuse
- your term software into thinking its already connected somewhere, thus,
- it won't dial out.
