- I'm pretty sure that the 8259 is a Programmable Interupt controller, not a
- UART. There are various other multi-function peripheral chips that contain
- 1 or 2 uarts (non fifoed normally), and parallel ports, Real time clocks
- etc. Look in the UMC databook for loads of such chips. perhaps you have
- one of those. If so, I don't think there si a pin-compatable fifo-ed chip
