  14. I noticed in the firmware upgrade instructions that the same EPROMs can be
  15. used in a T1600, T3000, or WorldBlazer!  I didn't realize that the T1600
  16. shared the same hardware.  I wonder if we need to get our T1600s
  17. upgraded as well.

  19. I've recently performed several performance tests using both a Telebit
  20. T2500 and a Telebit WorldBlazer to connect with a remote WorldBlazer
  21. that has the new EPROMs.
  22.  
  23. The T2500 has the version GF7.03-T2500SA EPROMs.
  24. The WorldBlazer has the version LA5.00W EPROMs.
  25.  
  26. Here are the results of the tests.
  27.  
  28. Both WorldBlazers are hardwired for a DTE speed of 38400.
  29. The T2500 is hardwired for a DTE speed of 19200.
  30.  
  31. The sample file is a large file containing english text in ASCII.
  32. The uncompressed version of the file is 879886 bytes.
  33. The compressed version of the file is 360885 bytes.
  34.  
  35. The uncompressed version was transmitted both via direct uucp and as
  36. the body of mail messages.

  38. T2500 <-> WorldBlazer PEP appears to max out at approx. 1425 cps.
