- Could any phone/modem gurus give me an idea of just how different
- phone network characteristics are worldwide with regard to modem
- compatibility and safety?
-
- And how really different are modems approved for different countries?
-
- Are the differences simply to satisfy bureaucrats, or do they affect
- how the modems operate in a significant way?
-
- I am really in the dark about all this, and I find it a handicap in
- negotiations with a particular modem manufacturer who says my troubles
- stem from using a U.S. model in Japan.
-
- Thanks.
