  19. The US government already squanders many, many billions of dollars a year in
  20. farm subsidies. I see no reason why I should subsidize farmers in yet another
  21. manner. Nor do I see any reason why I should subsidize rich yuppie DINKs who
  22. think they are getting closer to nature, burn many gallons of fuel every day
  23. commuting to work, and still feel they are entitled to "universal" service.

  25. It's very easy to argue for "entitlements", like cheap phone service miles
  26. from the nearest town. People are free to make that kind of lifestyle choice,
  27. but they shouldn't try to convince me it's somehow in my best interest to
  28. help them pay for it.
