- Out of casual interest in learning about the REAL RS232 Standard I
- called EIA to order the standard document and was shocked to learn
- that the standards documents were like $60 a piece.
- At the time I was interested in the correct way to hook RS242 to RS442
- and found that was another $60 document. I noticed you quoted from
- the standard in this note, and was wondering if any of the standards
- documents were inexpensively available (like anon. ftp!), and if not
- what is the rationale? I can understand recovering costs, but this
- has the negative side affect of limiting the availability of first
- hand knowledge of the standard.
