  12. Ok, as long as we are swapping war stories, here's what I have observed:

  14. 1. I allow non-error-correcting connections and a V.32bis connection
  15.    is made _without_ error-correction.  Once that connection is dropped,
  16.    the phone company reasserts dial-tone which the WB promptly locks
  17.    on to and proceeds to pump trash into my login process _indefinitely_!
  18.    The only solution was to set S182=2 and set up an old TB+ on another
  19.    line for dumb 2400 baud modems to connect to.  :-(

  21. 2. More recently, without provocation, the WB seems to answer the line
  22.    and then drop it connection within about 20 seconds.  If I call up
  23.    with a voice phone it just hangs up before it finishes the full tone
  24.    cycle.  A hardware reset of the modem seems to make the problem go
  25.    away, but for how long???  :-(

  27. 3. And, of course, the other "standard" problems that have been mentioned
  28.    here that Telebit (hopefully) will have fixed soon!  :-(

  30. I would be interested in hearing if anybody else has experienced these
  31. problems and what you did about them.

  33. Also, I should mention that I am working with Telebit on these problems,
  34. and they are doing what they can, but it seems clear the WB was before its
  35. time.  I should have probably bought T-2500's - or some other brand...

  37. In (I think) MacUser, they rate products with little mice.  Like a really
  38. good product might get five mice.  Sort of like rating restaurants with
  39. stars.  Well, I'm rating the WB with smiley faces.  And right now, we are
  40. into the "negative" region by three...

  46. Hopefully, Telebit will get things back into the "positive" region where they
  47. (in my opinion) have been for years.
