  31. Faxing from a DOS vdm  requires more than 1,000 interrupts/second. OS/2 will
  32. not supply this level of service. To do so would allow one task to gain a
  33. level of service that would affect other tasks significantly.

  35. There is no problem if you use a native OS/2 fax program. I know of three.
  36.  
  37. Bitfax for OS/2 - from Bit Software of Fremont, California. I use this program
  38. and have found it to be very good. I prefer it to Winfax Pro, which I used to
  39. use until I switched from Windows 3.1 to OS/2 v2. I paid US$99 + shipping for
  40. this program - money well spent!

  42. There is also PMfax - written by a company called Keller Group. I don't know
  43. where they are located.

  45. There is also FAXit - which i believe is another version of PMfax (as is
  46. Bitfax). I don't know who sells this.

  48. All three programs may have been written by the same company and are now being
  49. sold under three different names - with slight differences in functionality.

  51. Get Bitfax. With a PM word processor - including the free DeScribe demo - it
  52. works very well. I am told you can also fax frm DOS applications, but I
  53. haven't tried it.
