- Faxing from a DOS vdm requires more than 1,000 interrupts/second. OS/2 will
- not supply this level of service. To do so would allow one task to gain a
- level of service that would affect other tasks significantly.
-
- There is no problem if you use a native OS/2 fax program. I know of three.
-
- Bitfax for OS/2 - from Bit Software of Fremont, California. I use this program
- and have found it to be very good. I prefer it to Winfax Pro, which I used to
- use until I switched from Windows 3.1 to OS/2 v2. I paid US$99 + shipping for
- this program - money well spent!
-
- There is also PMfax - written by a company called Keller Group. I don't know
- where they are located.
-
- There is also FAXit - which i believe is another version of PMfax (as is
- Bitfax). I don't know who sells this.
-
- All three programs may have been written by the same company and are now being
- sold under three different names - with slight differences in functionality.
-
- Get Bitfax. With a PM word processor - including the free DeScribe demo - it
- works very well. I am told you can also fax frm DOS applications, but I
- haven't tried it.
