  12. I am having a small problem with control files.

  14. I have sent a database (created with Oracle v. 6.0.27) to a customer
  15. who has v. 6.0.34 (DEC Ultrix 4.2a). I sent what I believed were all the required 
  16. files, that is, the contents of the database directory, and
  17. instructions on how to get the db up and running. I had
  18. previously done the same thing with the same customer
  19. without any problem, so I wasn't expecting trouble. However,
  20. when the customer tries to start the database, he gets an error
  21. "ORA-00205: error in identifying control file". As far as I can
  22. tell, ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID are properly set, and everything
  23. seems to be in order, except the database won't start. What am I missing?
