  13. We write a lot of Embedded SQL applications in C to run on ORACLE on 
  14. our mainframe at HQ.  We are looking into running some of these applications on
  15. customer sites.  Ideally,  we need a very low (ideally zero) maintenance DBMS 
  16. to support these applications at these sites.  Can anybody recommend any 
  17. packages or vendors?

  19. Again,  the operative requirement is LOW-MAINTENANCE.  We cannot have a DBA
  20. per customer installation.

  22. We may also be able to get by with some file-system access packages (as opposed
  23. to a full-fledged DBMS) but we need a SQL interface (ideally something similar
  24. to ORACLE SQL) for application portability.

  26. Can anybody out there provide any leads/references?  Also,  actual experience 
  27. reports would be invaluable.
