  12. Is there a techniques that is used by Systems Analysts that could help
  13. me decided on the best searching procedure for a personal database
  14. system that I am developing?  I am cr eating a database system to
  15. reference varous newspaper, magazine, and trade journal articles, and
  16. I am undecided between two methods.  BTW, I am using DataEase 4.2 for
  17. this project.

  19. The first method is to use Keywords to reference the articles.  My 
  20. definition of a keyword is a very short (one or two word description)
  21. of something, or the name of the item (ie. company name, product name,
  22. etc).

  24. The otehr method is more complicated but would require abstracts
  25. (ranging from one or two lines for newspapers and magazines to 500
  26. words for trade journals) that would be searched.  The mechanics of
  27. the searching procedure has not yet been decided upon.
