  10. There is often very much common information between channels of a stereo 
  11. pair.  Much of one image can often be generated by shifting and distorting
  12. the other image.  Even the extreme cases you often find in holograms with
  13. views through magnifying glasses, etc could be handled if both images were 
  14. generated as distortions of a third image.

  16. Has anyone done this sort of thing?  I have no particular interest in
  17. stereo pairs, but some in the generation and storing of distortions and 
  18. mappings of images.  If I generate some sort of file format for these
  19. things I would like it to cater for all possibilities.
