  24. Isn't YET in the Unix niche, on a global scale.  Of course, there's NT, Mach,
  25. VMS, etc., etc.

  27. Perhaps you'd care to consider some real dial-up text/file services (like CIS
  28. or Delphi) rather than the "multi-line" bbs's most persons have in mind (dinky
  29. little six or twelve line systems, as compared to hundreds of lines).. any
  30. guesses as to the system hardware/software they use?  I'd lay you some very
  31. good odds they're not running on a stinkin' PC with MS-DOS!  (And that would
  32. be highly unfair, at least insofar as Delphi is concerned, as I already know
  33. the HW/SW configuration of their host systems).

  35. Who cares?  What does selection of OS have to do with any discussion of
  36. so-called "BBS standards?"  Just what aspects of bbs operation/implementation
  37. would we need to have standardized?  What would be the benefits and drawbacks
  38. to accepting those standards?  What hidden agendas are at work?  Is there a
  39. conspiracy?  Can it possibly get more interesting?
