- I have changed employers. I now work for Qualcomm, Inc. Qualcomm and I
- will continue to develop Eudora, and continue to make it available for free.
- In fact, Eudora development will be accellerated.
-
- My new address is "sdorner@qualcomm.com"; the old address will still work,
- but please use the new one instead.
-
- For the time being, Eudora will still be available from ftp.cso.uiuc.edu,
- though that may change in the future.
-
- I have just put a new beta test release of Eudora on ftp.cso.uiuc.edu,
- mac/eudora/beta subdirectory. The new version is 1.3b46.
-
- CHANGES FROM 1.2.2
-
- Besides fixing some bugs in 1.2.2, version 1.3 adds a few features:
-
- 1. You may now edit the subjects of incoming messages.
- 2. System 7 aliases are permitted for mailbox files (only; no
- aliases for .toc files, just the mailbox files themselves).
- 3. TOC rebuilds now salvage as much of the old toc as possible
- 4. Support for "uupc", UUCP for the Macintosh.
- 5. Support for AppleLink enclosures (thanks to Harry Culbert of
- Apple, who donated this code).
- 6. Support for "plug-ins" (don't get too excited)
- 7. Reply all preference
- 8. Include self preference
- 9. Open In preference
- 10. Shift-Reply now quotes selected portion
- 11. Added some special characters for use in navigation strings
-
- I recommend use of the beta version if:
-
- 1. You are having trouble with version 1.2.2.
- 2. You have the "Leave Mail On Server" switch turned on.
- 3. You can't live without the new features.
- 4. Disk space is very tight.
- 5. You sometimes receive attachments from AppleLink
-
- Please read the README file in the mac/eudora/beta subdirectory
- for further details.
